Can you share a little about what you're going for? From the playlist, I see a bunch of 50s but then Eddie Cochrain and Dire Straits throw me off.

As it stands, I think that That's What I Like by Jive Bunny and the Mastermixers seems to be a perfect match for the feel/vibe you're going for... but again, I'm not sure.

    oh right,

i mean rock n roll hits basically, mostly from the 1950s but the odd newer one. id play them at any kind of event that has an older crowd, such as a wedding or a 50th anniversary for example.
but the young ones (like myself lol ) enjoy it too. its great for burning off a bit of energy during the opening hour at a wedding for example.
the jive bunny stuff is fairly on track actually with the track list, i just dont think i like hearing that music in a megamix, id prefer to have a collection of the original songs.

Take out the Dire Straights song, it really doesn't go with the others and it's kind of slow.
    50's
Elvis Presely - Jailhouse Rock, Blue Suede Shoes.
Everly Brothers - Wake up Little Suzy
Dany and the Juniors - At The Hop

    60's
    Aretha Franklin - RESPECT
    Del Shannon - Runaway
    Dion - Runaround Sue
Elvis Presely - All Shook up
Kinks - You Really Got Me
    Roy Orbison - Pretty Woman
    The Archies - Sugar Sugar
Beach Boys - I Get Around
    The Monkees - I'm a Believer

Its all rockabilly, and swing rock. The Dire Straits song fits perfectly.

Stray Cats - Stray Cat Strut
    Joe Jackson - Jumping Jive
    Squirrel Nut Zippers - Hell
Dire Straits - Twisting By The Pool

Of course theres an entire world of party rockabilly music, but its probably a bit hard and fast for a general party crowd.

Yes ! exactly. rockabilly and swing rock. you know, yourself, in a wedding or party you kinda have to keep it on a "well known songs" level. (unfortunately) there are a whole bunch of chuck berry songs id like to play but seeminly he was never hugely popular in my country, on the level of elvis , jerry lee lewis or any of those guys.
but thats what we have to work with

not sure if "ring of fire" could belong in this list, though i might well play it around that time of night

Good choices!!! But I'd keep the Dire Straits track and pick up the tempo with Bo Diddley "Who Do You Love".
