Thread: Ecler Nuo 4.0 Any thoughts?

Yea the 4 has those l-line and h-line plus the input #5 in the middle which can't do much but it's handy.
I never used the midi features even once so I can't tell you how good they were....

With the 4.0 they took out those extra inputs as well as the MIDI and a few other things such as the low eq cut switches, the mono button.. but then, in the 4.0 they added separate input meters on each channel, and the monitor outputs are XLR instead of RCA.. which as a sound guy I really prefer because they are harder to break than the TRS on most mixers.. and less adapters to deal with.

So yea, whether you like the cleaner layout, more rugged finish, better metering and connectors of the 4.0 or the greater features of the 4.. is a matter of taste. Having had both.. they sound the same as far as I could tell (I didn't do a side by side comparison) and I would happily mix on either one.

But these days, getting a great condition 4 will be tough as they have been discontinued pushing 10 years ago?? Not sure.. but a while! And now I see on the Ecler site that the 4.0 has been discontinued, they are only making the 2.0 still.. or, they now call it the "20". Which, I had a 2 (my friend now has it) and it was great, if 2 channels is enough.

Long story short, if you want to have the Ecler 4.0 experience, might want to pick one up while you can still get one in good condition.

So it seems theres little difference from the 4 and 4.0 . Just extra connectivity around the back ,while the og 4 has midi controller.
I haven't bought an ecler yet, I spent my money on other stuff and concentrated on other production gear (elektron etc) but I'm eyeing a version 4 og Nuo right now and may bag one so thanks again guys

PS I like to use the decks and dj stuff for home studio production and jamming live with musicians if not DJing.
I have mapped my Nuo 4 to my Traktor and find it very useful. I used my X1 controlling the effects, loops, cue points. But since I got the Nuo 4 in 2015, I use the midi section and the Novation dicer for effects, loops, cue points, browsing, etc and they work great together. The X1 is retired.

it's hard to recommend Ecler since they pulled out of the dj business.
parts will just get harder to find.

shame cos good all-round upper-mid-level analogue mixers are thin on the ground these days

Eclers are all awesome. Can't go wrong with sound quality. The question is are they holding up in terms of durability

I got over 20 years on one Ecler and about 10 on a second hand model.
So they've certainly covered their investment.

Ugh I'm in this exact situation. Should I go for NUVO 4, 4.0, or XONE 62? Or just shell out more money for 92?

Hey hi @Chalk5 are you still shopping?
I'm now looking at A&H Xone 43 or even saving for a Xobe PX5 ,they look nice. (Keep it analogue).
