New to Djing, need help in buying the gear
Hi Experts,
I'm totally new to Djing, I'll be djing for house, office parties to a crowd not more than 50-100, what's the bang for buck setup I need to buy? I want to start with bare minimum before I start splurging on pro audio setup. This is my planned setup
Pioneer ddj-sb2
Mackie thump 12
For powered speakers my Max budget is 350usd,is one speaker sufficient or do I need a pair?
Please advise, I'm in India, the brands available here are (mackie, behringer, jbl, ev, peavey, pope, Samson, alto)

My advice.. spend as little as possible on the controller and as much as you can afford on the speakers, because there is very little difference in the sound of any electronic component but there are hugh differences in the sound quality and durability of speakers, and you need to spend a certain bare minimum $$ before you will get something respectable that will actually last more than a few gigs. I think you will need a sub and at least one top speaker.. depends if you want stereo or not, is there anywhere close you can rent speakers to get an idea of how different systems perform?

Good advice from @Conanski... I might disagree on one point though. Sound cards in controllers can be VERY different. You don't have to spend a fortune on a controller to get a good one, but there are cheap ones that don't have very good sound cards. My first controller was an America Audio VMS 4.1, and even though I now have a Pioneer DDJ-T1 and a Denon MC6000 MK2, both of which are much more expensive controllers than the VMS 4.1, the VMS 4.1 is still my primary (and preferred) controller.
As someone who only started DJing about 2 1/2 years ago, I'll confess that most of the gear I first purchased has already been replaced. The speakers I bought first are rarely used. I wish I had joined a forum like this earlier; I might have avoided wasting money on some of my purchases.
