Phone in airplane mode cued up with mix (or Benny Hill theme - adds amusement for frantic laptop reboots). Plugged into line-in on mixer.
Job done.

Doubt I could afford any top spec back up laptop..but probably some with a pre-recorded set
I use a compact mixer for just this reason - to have a backup sound source ready to go just in case something happens with my controller and/or computer.
My backup sound source is my phone - that's set to airplane mode with a premade mix ready to go. The mix is so I have at least 10 minutes of high-energy crowd appropriate music to go. In that 10 minutes, I can power down both controller and computer, reboot, load a track, and beat match it with the playing mix (off my phone) and then mix back onto the controller. ALL without the crowd knowing... except of course with the main mix stopped to begin with.
It's only happened once to me at a gig... but that was enough for me to realize that there's no way I'm not going to prepare for it for every gig.

no such thing as dumb questions.
just use a line level input that is not being used by something else. or if you feel really adventurous, use that FX return.
