    Halo & LED 1200 Mod

    Not are if a similar post has been made yet but here is mine. 2x 1200 MK2 (1 is a black 1200 MK2-P-K apparently rare for a black tech thats not a 1210)
    both internally grounded. Stuff I used:

    12InchSkinz.com grey/silver skins
    IceColdCustomsUSA.com Technic 1200 Blue LED Kit
    Technic 1200 Platter/ Pitch slider Halo under glow kit.

    All installed myself. soldering was required, an with the halo kit you can't use the dust cover under the platter. just don't store your equipment in the attic without the platters on and you should be fine. also need to see if I can dig up pics of the install.

    LED kit came with the resistor for the pop up light so you don't grenade the Motor speed regulator, and 8/10 instructions.IMG_8277.jpg

    can't upload pictures for some reason
    But don't listen to me, I don't know anything. I'm just a DJ.

    You can't link images straight from instaglum. Though you can still open the page's source code and search for this:

    <link rel="canonical" href="https://www.instagram.com/p/BR3lcbVg-zk/" />

    <meta property="al:android:url" content="https://www.instagram.com/p/BR3lcbVg-zk/" />
    This is the line from which you just cut the https out of facebook's database:

    <meta property="og:image" content="https://scontent-lht6-1.cdninstagram...25968128_n.jpg"
    Then you can link the picture.

    Or just use a website such as tinypic, it's quicker.

    I certainly looks cool - but it doesn't light any usable part of the TT. Huh.

    Where did you tap the LED to power it? Also, why can't you use the cover under the platter? If that's the case then there's a flaw on the design. I DIY(ed) my under platter halo and installed a separate power supply hidden the platter cover and tapped/soldered on the main switch to simultaneously power both the deck and the halo. I used the stock cover and drilled holes on it. I've done a couple of dozen for clients and friends as well.

    Here are a couple of them

    Thanks. and unfortunately not really just looks cool. but for most places i can see the pitch fader, and with SDJ Relative mode the tracking position doesn't really matter

    Tapped the Power right from the switched side of the power supply. and its basically the same as the kit you posted just it goes around the inner lip of the TT body so if you put the cover on it'll over the light, where your design goes around the cover itself. i think yours is a better design but i didn't have the time to put in the work to do the math and source my own parts to build the kit myself, and don't have the $ to fix when i F*** up (which will happen)
    But don't listen to me, I don't know anything. I'm just a DJ.

    I know I’m reviving an old post but do you have a picture of where you tapped into power?

    Thanks

    I had mine professionally done on my silver 1200’s by Work It records out of Fort Worth Texas. At the same time, my buddy had his dark 1200’s done. On mine, it looks like one continuous round light, so it looks like the platters are floating, on his, since the turntable is dark under the platter, they don’t look as nice, because you can see the individual LEDs. So the platter doesn’t look like it is floating. If I was to install them on a dark turntable, I would take off the platter, paint that area white, install the LED’s, then put the platter back on, that way the lights would look like one continuous light. Here is a picture of mine.
