are there headphones that have excellent noise isolation? And what does your mobile setup consist of?

+1 on Sonys . I had the MDR 700s for about 8 years now. They're getting a bit tatty but have served well over that period of time. Noise isolation is good, sound quality is also good.

Plenty of reviews in the sticky: http://www.djforums.com/forums/showt...over-the-years

Beyerdynamic DT-880 Pro - very detailed for reference listening and good for mixing.

Dj headphones have to be super rugged and block out external sound.
Those headphones are great for listening at home or the studio, but as they are semi-open and fragile, not very suitable for DJ gigs.
bored, curious, deaf or just bad taste in music?
    finally a mix by me
and what's this, another shoddy mix...another dull mix

I would vote Audio technica. I haven't tried the current AKG stuff, but from experience you have to drive them hard to get some loudness out of them.

Any headphones with reversible spring loaded cups like Sony mdrv700? You know, when you open the cup 90 degrees it goes back to normal position after released. So far I found Stanton dj pro 3000 and Pioneer hdj2000.

Also Sony MDR-V55 have that feature but don't know if they are good for dj-ing.

XONE XD2-53 seem to be discontinued. Is xd3 edition on the way?
