It might just be me but I've started to see a pattern form with people i know or come across that have massive issues with the sync button. Ive found that the main people spouting off about it tend to be people who used to go out clubbing who didn't really know what was going on half the time when people were mixing records, but they feel they have the right to call it all 'cheating' these days, it makes me think hang on a minute you don't even know what the fucks going on anyway so who are you to decide whats real DJing and what isn't.
Ive also found some guys who didn't stick with it the first time around have bought decks again (mainly CDJs) to mess around on, they are slagging so called 'laptop DJs' off when again I'm thinking, well 15 years ago you sold your decks cos you didn't stick it out when we were all shit and trying to learn, yet you are slating other people who are apparently too lazy to learn.
i personally don't use sync but have never really had anything against it if used for what it was designed for (in fact I'm going to do the opposite of everyone else and actually get off my arse and learn to use sync so i can start messing around with all the other stuff Serato lets you do with the music).. this view was strengthened when i was in Space this summer and Joris Voorn absolutely tore it up using just an allen and heath controller, laptop and a DJM 2000, i would love anybody who supposedly hates the sync button to re-create a set that is anywhere near the level of what Joris is knocking out
Whats everyone elses opinion on the type of people they come across who spout off about this??
