Hi
I recently dug out my old turntables and mixer to get back into mixing and my setup has changed somewhat since I last used them and I am a little confused how to connect it all up.
Last time I used them I was using passive speakers and an amp with a Native Intruments audio 10 interface to connect to my pc via RCA.
I recently sold all my old stuff as I plan to get some Presonus E5 monitors but my audio 10 does not support TRS balanced out so I planned to get a new interface and this is where the confusion started.
I want to connect my mixer and possibly my tape deck as I have hundreds of old tapes to digitize but may just get a CD recorder, both of these are old and output RCA but I cannot find a USB interface that had RCA line in and TRS main out it seems like nothing has RCA these days. a CD recorder would half solve my issues as I could use that to record my mixes and old tapes instead but I still need to connect the mixer to the monitors.
Is now the time to upgrade to a more modern mixer which presumably has balanced out?
Another potential issue is if I had my mixer connected to an interface then the interface to the monitors would I need my pc on to power the interface and get sound?
I apologise for my noob questions last time I dipped into this was a while ago I'm pretty out of touch.
Thanks!
Edit: I just noticed more to the forum and probably should have put this in the equipment area sorry
