Can you list 3 speakers and model numbers from big brands that qualify as lacking proper head room ?

That would put us "on the same page" as they say with no assumptions.
No... If you don't know what I mean I'm not going to explain, your not a newcomer. I have no interest in winning a debate. However I have a lot of time to help new people. The others on here who are knowledgeable, who I debate with and can disagree, isn't because I'm trying to prove them wrong or beat them, it's because I myself am trying to increase my understanding.

Why don't you show me some leading brands that has an amplifier at least twice the power of the RMS rating of the speaker enclosed. Last time I checked crown recommended upto 3x (2.6 ideal or about that) but then they would, they're in the business of selling amps.

I like the control and visuals from seeing the lights on my amps and compressor limiters, (as well as the mixer) this way when you are in full swing and pumping up the volume and maybe getting carried away you can observe the red peak lights etc no matter where the speakers are located.
I can do that with my powered JBL SRX stuff from my ipad

That may have been a valid criticism 5 years ago but the latest generation of portable powered speakers are showing up with ample headroom. A good example of this is the new EV EKX line, it's really easy to see with this series because there are passive versions along with the active versions so you don't have to dig too hard to see the power handling capacity of the drivers alone. Take the EKX12 and 12p for example, the passive box is rated 350w continuous(nobody uses rms anymore)and 1400w peak and the powered box has an amp that delivers 1500w peak. The JBL SRX800 series is similar and although it appears the powered box falls a little short of the peak rating of the drivers the reality is it's within 3db and at 2000w is in the ballpark of what most people use with the passive versions anyway.

Yeah, that's sweet! It's great to have total control without ever leaving from behind the decks. It's the wave of the future for sure
