    50 Songs...50 different artists/DJ's...???

Has any DJ in here ever tried making or played a playlist/set where every song during their set was by a different artist/DJ/Producer and there were no repeat artists...???

Is this possible..?? Is it hard to do...??? Will it sound good..??

If you have done so...what was your process and selection like...???

I am thinking of trying to do this but it sounds like a VERY COMPLICATED task. I need tips/advice.

    Thanks.

What would be so complicated about it?

Nah its not hard to do at all. Especially if you have a lot of good music by various artists. I also have a lot of good music by the same 3-4 people. Unless its some type of compliation or showcase, just play what you think is good.

i'm not sure that it's all that complicated. depending on you knowledge on artists/genres, i can see where it could be difficult trying to find 50 separate artists on songs, but the process can be very simple.

for making a playlist, pick an artist, then go to a music site liek Spotify, Beatport, Amazon, etc. and look at the related tracks/artists. you'll be able to get 50 in no time.

as for actually playing a set with different artists, just keep a mental note on what you've played. if your collection is vast, 50 separate artists isn't too difficult.

its only difficult if you are doing hip hop and you do not want a repeat of anyone on any of the remixes.

I'd just go pick on my list, one of each artist in alphabetical order then mix the lot. Not sure what the problem is. And regarding hip hop,

that's 500+ tracks condensed in one hour, not bad.

Most of the sets I play don't have any repeat artists/remixers , and I'd get through 50 tracks in a 2-3 hour set happily enough.

Not sure what the fuss is, unless you have a very small range of music or you're playing a genre (footwork, trap, PC Music, even trance these days I guess?) where a lot of it's seemingly made by the same few people.

You might be looking in the wrong place. Beatport, Amazon, Spotify...

Don't let the commercialism take control of your music. Try to find lesser known mp3 sites and dig. That is a lost art in the age of technology. If you want to stand out (and in my mind be a good DJ) you should be trying to find tracks that are not heavily played by the top DJs. If you imitate them, they have a hold on that market and you will never grow as a DJ.

Not hard if you know good music, for certain genres. But I would like to see someone try to do this for Bhangra or Bollywood, that would be so challenging if not impossible, granted you play good music.
Need an amazing Video DJ that can Handle Indian and American, let's work together!
