People who think you will DJ a Wedding for food.

I get these offers a lot. "We can't really pay you to DJ our wedding but we can feed you."

I think I remember reading a very hilarious article or rant on this subject manner and would love to find it again as I just recieved another one of these requests a couple days ago. Do any of you know where I can find it?

The right way for the conversation to go:

potential client: "We can't really pay you to DJ our wedding but we can feed you."

DJ: "No. You're welcome to call back when you take me or your wedding seriously."

I have never gotten such a request... Are you trying to drum up business on a street corner?

If someone asked me to DJ for food, I would give them my wife's grocery shopping list for a month... that's about $1200 for my family of five.
