After a sun-soaked season opener with Pan-Pot & John Acquaviva, BASK returns to the remodeled rooftop at The Standard Downtown on Sunday June 21st, compliments of Harmonic. The new Funktion One system will play host to an anticipated fully-LIVE set from FAIRMONT, a fresh hybrid performance from one of today’s hottest acts RICOSHËI, and support from movers-and-shakers MAHERAS and SAAND.

Throughout the course of his two decade career in music, Jake Fairley aka FAIRMONT has built up a loyal worldwide following. His 2005 release ‘Gazebo’ a club monster that sold 20,000 vinyl copies, had steady national radio play in many countries, and solidified Fairley as a key figure in the world of electronic music. Prior to this, he had several releases under various pseudonyms on top-notch dance-floor imprints such as Traum, Kompakt, Sender and Dumb-Unit. In 2007, the warm and fuzzy Fairmont album came out on James Holden’s Border Community label. The album brought a new level of critical acclaim, including serious love from Pitchfork. ‘Automaton’ was released in 2012 on My Favorite Robot Records. Bringing in an eclectic mix of influences, from all over the electronic universe, ‘Automaton’ brought Fairley’s singing to the forefront and also gave birth to a new incarnation of the FAIRMONT live show, highlighting his unique ability to perform what is simultaneously a rocking stage show and a killer dance-floor set. His ever-expanding-no-laptop live arsenal which now includes three analogue synthesizers, two drum machines, his trusty sampler and a slew of other toys results in something physical, intense and thoroughly charming. Since ‘Automaton’, Fairmont has had what can only be described as a relentless schedule. In 2013 he released the massive genre- bending single ‘Poble Sec’ (which was was recorded almost entirely live-to-tape) on Beachcoma, the label he runs with his friends Sid Le Rock and Metope, followed by another EP on My Favorite Robot. Shortly after, he unearthed his propulsive 12- inch “Dysnomia” on Areal Records, which like ‘Poble Sec’ was recorded almost entirely live-to-tape. These three EPs came amongst a flurry of over a dozen remixes for artists such as Hot Since 82, Henry Saiz, Avatism, and Chloe. Fairmont has since put out another EP on Beachcoma, remixed the likes of John Digweed and Abstraxion, and has released a killer EP on Echocord, 'I Want to See the Sun Come Up'. Divulge into some of his live performances online, and you’ll see what kind of treat you’re in for.

RICOSHËI's debut hit single “Perfect Like You” was released in 2014 on DJ Koze’s highly-acclaimed imprint, Pampa Records reaching #5 on the industry-leading, Hypem.com overall chart the following week. It consequently went on to hold chart positions on Beatport, Decks.de and Juno.co.uk’s top charts for several months and has accumulated well over 1M plays. Their most recently released EP, “Ghosts” garnered much attention and support from top-leading club djs such as Groove Armada’s Tom Findlay, Route 94, Nick Warren, Kiki and Joris Voorn to name a very select few as well as positive press reviews and a staggering rating of 9/10 on Ibiza-Voice. Their music has continually been featured on the regular programming of many globally recognized radio networks on almost every inhabited continent. German music website Trndmusik.de named “Perfect Like You” their #1 song of 2014. With 2015 well underway, the duo comprised of Nikko Gibler and Jake Patrick have launched their new label, “What’s That?”, through which they will be releasing “original music that showcases all-shades of electronica and other greatly unexpected genres. Earlier this year, Ricoshëi performed 16 sold-out shows across America & Canada, where they supported Eric Prydz' "Pryda Generate Tour". In the last 18 months their success has earned them slots at some of the biggest festivals around; including Coachella, Lollapalooza, The BPM Festival, SXSW, Mexico City’s massive Corona Capital, and on the main stage of electronic music's longest running festival brand Mysteryland, held in Bethel Woods, New York, where Woodstock ’69 was held. Their latest single came out on Kitsuné (France), 'Darling feat. Fiona Sally Miller'. it's currently one of the two most popular songs on the release, which currently sitting a top of several iTunes charts. Whether it's a DJ set, a live performance --or in BASK's case: the hybrid of something in between-- their shows perfectly reflect their passion for music as they usually perform on stage with guitars, keyboards, drum-machines, controllers and their already unmistakeable vocals. Nicely suited for BASK and The Standard Rooftop.

Brooklyn-born Jimmy Maheras started to fiddle with knobs and faders back in the late 90s. With NYC as his musical playground, Jimmy frequented many of electronic music's most legendary clubs. These gritty nights of beats and bass laid the foundation for MAHERAS's music career. His refuses to limit his sound to a single genre, and in turn spits out shades of soulful house, groovy disco and dark techno. In 2010, Jimmy partnered with fellow DJ Bas, to launch Plastic Love, which conducts music podcasts, events, and fuse their talents behind the DJ booth to play shows across Los Angeles and beyond. As an individual artist, Jimmy's first release, “Space Jam,” featuring a remix by the esteemed Matt Tolfrey, rolled out onto Crosstown Rebels sub-label, “RebelLion” in 2011. Following that were releases on Supernature, Leftroom and Stranjjur. Most recently, Jimmy's released "The Man From Another Place" EP on the newly formed Plastic Love Records. Doubling as an A&R agent for Plastic Love and Culprit LA, Jimmy is using his musical expertise to identify talent and unearth new sounds. Expanding his personal style by working under new aliases with talented vocalists and collaborating in projects such as Cazion and Plastic Love, Jimmy continues to explore the vast sphere of electronic music without limits.

LA-based Michael Sandler aka SAAND's 15 year career in music spans across many genres and monikers, most recently including Low Tide. SAAND's productions have received support by some of the most respected names in the industry, and melancholic textures fused into his fluid, melodic sets have quickly taken him to the international stage. Releasing on fast-growing labels like Dilate, Motek, and Sol Selectas and landing gigs at festivals such as BPM and Lighting in a Bottle have helped him embark on the next chapter of his journey, as he sets forth to express himself through his music and his DJ sets.

As the LA summer moves into full swing, BASK once again offers an array of solid performers & performances, this time around on the pumping Funktion One sound system at the remodeled rooftop & pool. As always, Harmonic kindly asks that you RSVP to ensure capacity control. rsvpharmonic@gmail.com.
