    What, you've never played on a pioneer setup before? a setup with a CDJ 2000, 2x CDJ 900s, CDJ 800 and a DJM 900 is MUCH simpler than most midi setups. It's just expensive. If you look at fullenglishpint's setup (which is above me in linear mode), that's actually more complicated than a setup with 4 pioneers.

    simpler to plug in, harder to make a nice noise with. 4 deck beatmatching by ear is next to godliness in my book.

    IMHO, it's also pointless. 3 Decks is perfectly doable, and I haven't actually heard anything that used 4 decks at once that seemed worth listening to or doing…except for some weirdness about how Traktor works with sample decks.

    3 decks is the magic number, IMHO, and it's perfectly doable with tables.
