Yes, i constantly heat the sides & bend them over while it was warm...this material became soft within seconds and also gets cold & hardened very fast.
should be no problem using 3M, very high quality...using too much force (like cards or nails) can damage/scratch the textures, so pressing by hand is enough while heating them
I tried experimenting on various surface before actually wrapping my cabinet with it

    2 x Technic 1200
    2 x Numark V7
    A&H Xone:92 Rotary
    Numark X5 Mixer
2 Computers, each running Serato Itch, allowing 4 decks of Serato
Ableton Live, with 2 stereo outs, allowing cue and master, iPad controlled
    Dynaudio BM5A Montiors (not pictured)

We use one of the Aux sends on the X92 to feed one channel of the X5, the X5 also gets the master out, this allows 2 DJs to each have independent cue mixes.
The other Aux send is an effect send into Ableton, which is always in sync due to the Red Sound Voyager

My first setup was this pair of Synergy CD2000s purchased 2nd hand back in 2002, teamed with the blue 4 channel Phonic mixer shown in the next picture... Learned to beatmatch on these beauties and got a fair bit of use out of them until the lasers starting playing up. Oh and everyone's favourite question was 'can you touch the cd like a record whilst it's spinning?'. At about £100 worth of late nineties technology the answer was most definately no!

I also purchased this Gemini SA600mk2 Direct Drive TT, shown here with my first mixer (setup for recording my vinyl to mp3)... A very under-rated budget TT in my opinion- the classic 1200 layout with a straight tone-arm and a direct drive motor that was leagues ahead of anything else available for the price at the time. It weighs an absolute ton, still gets regular use 9 years after purchase and aside from the odd scratch and a cracked dustcover it's been completely faultless. If only Gemini still built gear to last like this.

Then more recently I decided to join the digital era with this cheap Behringer BCD3000 controller. I built a quick custom tabletop to house them in to keep the wires out of sight...

Then after getting fed up of having to use a laptop in my setup but still wanting the convinience of having 80% of my music as mp3s I went ahead and treated myself to these back in May of this year- 2 x Pioneer CDJ900s & a Denon Dn-x1600, shown here on a pretty standard Ikea construction with my 10year old Technics headphones...

My mate came down for the weekend last week and brought down his pair of Vestax PDX2000mk2 along with a stack of old trance vinyl. Had a few mates round on the Saturday for a good mixing session. I'm personally not sold on the looks but these TTs are an absolute joy to mix on. No computer, no DVS, just a couple crates of vinyl, a wallet full of cds and the odd usb key. Awesome fun.

The make-shift wooden rack for the CDJs is only a temporary setup whilst his Vestax decks are here but they are firmly secured in place...

The wires are a bit all over the place in these last couple of pictures as they were taken as we were setting up but this was quickly rectified as I have a fair bit of ocd regarding wires & cables on show...

When he takes his Vestax back i'll be re-working the old laptop shelf to accomodate my Gemini TT so I can reach my long intended goal of a true usb/cd/vinyl setup, along with a pair of KRK monitors

    2x Denon SC2900, Dn-x1600, 1x Technics 1210 M3D, 2x Vestax PDX2000mkII, Gemini SA600mkII, 2x Synergy CD2000 (antiques!).
