Yes they're plastic spheres a couple+ inches across.. inside each one is a pcb with three 5050 leds and a WS2811 driver chip. That part I got on ebay pre-assembled. I actually have some new ones I got which contain 6 LEDs per ball. I'll def post more shots tomorrow when we're home. But yea the setup in the vdeo is over 10 feet high and round 5 across.. I didn't have that much space to spread them out.

Some pics of the new strip lights I recently received - I note that one is a 150 led strip and the other appears to be a 300 led strip - both have a waterprof cover. I am using the Taotronics PS and controller to run both reels and it works fine although colour is slightly different between the two (not surprising since they are two different manufacturers and chip densities...):

First attempt at cataloging a parts list with cost for each of the projects that I listed at the start of this thread. I placed it on a spreadsheet at:
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/vcif61ey7w...2015.xlsx?dl=0
Hopefully it can be accessed by all - note it is in MS 2013 Excel Spreadsheet format so you will need Excel or equivalent to view I believe- It is not yet complete as I have receipts to enter and parts still to add for each project - will do another session tomorrow hopefully...
Note there is a Tab at the bottom of the spreadsheet for each of the 6 projects with a sum so far for each including taxes.

Here is a more up to date version of the above spreadsheet that I still need to tweak a little bit but it is darn close to actual numbers now:

    https://www.dropbox.com/s/l4vkft9ew5...15V2.xlsx?dl=0

Total number is in bold font at the bottom right of each sheet figuring in cost of materials and taxes where applicable - Project 6 is still obviously in idea form and project 4 is not yet assembled with major work to go. I may swap out 5050 chips on this one and start over with parts already listed - will see. Hoping to have Project 1 complete this weekend. Just been too cold to work in the Garage.

Yippee, got project One complete - got one more video to shoot that I forgot to include in this iteration. I will do a short take on packing it up and show you the idea I scooped for packaging it and transport when I get to that. Right now I want to play with it a bit as I am tickled pink with the outcome. Without further adieu, here is the link for the video on Youtube:

Any constructive criticism is always welcome.

Another step in the evolution of my facade and I think this is the icing on the cake. While nursing a nasty cold today I couldn't just sit around and feel sorry for myself so I built the Facade back-lighting system I mentioned I would DIY in previous videos. Here is how I built it and what the final product looks like:
