I agree in the live djing prerecorded set crap... But it doesnt take a genius to know how to DJ.

Which is why its sad.

Lot of times its the festivals themselves that want prerecorded shit so that they can sync up fireworks and visuals without hurting the festivals image and the artists image. What would a festival rather do, trainwreck visuals and audio and get embarrassed infront of thousands or piss off a few bedroom/bar djs who noticednthe set was pre recorded...

...and that's why I choose to go to underground or small venue events, regardless of style of music.

Pretty much every second I'm not eating, sleeping, fucking or working. To kill a few birds while i am at it, I drink and smoke when I play.

If I could, I would - until they let me bring decks to work, I can't. In the meantime, I contribute here, I search for digital tracks, hunt down pieces of wax I want for my collection and, with whatever time is left, get my work done.

I'm just going to add that Tiesto shouldn't even be mentioned in this thread for anything other than the ego/money comments. He threw down 3 hours of absolute fire last night in Atlantic City. 100% legitimate.

i also don't get why he gets all the ego-hate. in every video i have seen of him he seems like a very down to earth guy. and honestly i have never seen a DJ shake hands with the whole first row in a 25000 people event
