Bizniz an Ting - Rave | Jungle | DNB
Just finished this and I would appreciate any feedback. I've tried to put together a cohesive and progressive mix that builds up the basslines and tried to keep it authentic by just mixing with two decks and setting cue points that a DJ could comfortably set with vinyl although there are a few quick changes. I've not used sync or loops or any effects apart from a beatwaw effect I use a few times. I've tried to be as oldskool as possible because that is how these genres should be played.
I've spent the last few months tinkering away at this and gone for a darkcore tone with the occasional happy hardcore flourish. I've used a few tracks just for the vocal samples which I drop just before a big bassline to try and capture that euphoric rush I used to get when I listened to these tracks in the 90s.
1.) DJ Hype - Weird Energy
2.) Skanna - Night Stalker
3.) DJ SS - Busy On The Tempo
4.) DJ Seduction - Got The Music
5.) MC Lethal - Rave Digger

Bump. An hour is a long time to listen to the whole thing so you could jump to a track you know to see what you think. I tried to be extra careful with the beatmatching this time because on previous mixes I used the pitchbend far too much which affected the overall pulse. This time I've used the pitchbend as little as possible and always on the incoming track only to make sure it doesn't stand out to the listener. That's the plan anyway.
It would also be useful if someone could see how the bass sounds through decent speakers because I was only able to test it through headphones. The big basslines come in from track 19 onwards so if someone could let me know if it becomes distorted or sounds bad it would be really helpful. Cheers.
