22 years ago, confrontational Irish songstress / activist*Sinead O’Connor largely derailed what had been a promising career when she sang a slightly modified version*of the classic Bob Marley song “War”*acapella on Saturday Night Live. With all the chaos and injustice that’s going on in the world today, it seemed fitting for Groove Junkies’ front man Evan Landes to breathe new life into this timeless classic & O’Connor’s brilliantly haunting performance.

Never one to shy away from bringing down tempo masterpieces to today’s modern dance floor (ie; his critically acclaimed covers of Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes “Wake Up Everybody, Billie Holiday’s “God Bless The Child” and The Beatles “Let It Be”), Evan has once again curated an unexpected slice of ‘House’ music heaven that not only moves the body, but nourishes the soul as well. His respectful ‘Classic Re-Touch’ keeps Haile Selassie’s (also known as Ras Tafari) timeless message of peace fully intact, and will hopefully open Sinead’s controversial version to a whole new audience.
