Jbl eon 515xt with Numark Mixdeck express

I recently purchased my first set of speakers and mixdeck and i have a questions about setup. I currently run pro co xlr cables to the speakers, when I turn the mixdeck on there is a hissing noise coming out of the speakers. Is that normal? Or will better quality cables fix the issue? Turning the music up will drown the hissing out.

It's not the cables, it's the controller that's noisy.
But the way you can deal with this is the following:

    1) Turn the volume on your speakers all the way down.
    2) Turn the volume on your controller up until you are peaking at 0 on the meters.
    3) Turn the volume up on the speakers until you are at the volume you want to play at.. or a little louder than that.

So then, you will have the speakers turned up to the maximum you need, without amplifying the noise more than necessary.
