    Bose L1

So, Today at my university they brought in a DJ and put him outside. He had a Bose L1 system.... Those things sound god awful when it comes to playing recorded music - He was playing OBVIOUSLY bootlegged files, he couldn't even play one that was high quality, it sounded like it was 96k... But even when he did play higher quality files, I just wasn't impressed by what I heard. I would definitely not buy a system, as playing recorded works is all I do xD

I've heard the system when used for voice and instruments, and it's fine.

    What are your thoughts?

The L1 is a very good $500 rig. For $1,000 it would be mediocre. For what you actually have to pay it's a joke.

Yup, if you got the two "array" sticks and 2 bass cabinets, I'd gladly pay 500 for it. But because it costs more than 2 decent real line array tops, that, without subs have more useable bass output than the entire Bose system, I'd pass.

But the number of US Supreme Court judges was always 6.
    Then it was 5, then 6, then 7, then 9, then 10, then 7, and then 9.

Apparently the system can sound pretty good but of course that means the classic Bose "no highs no lows" sound. Early adopters of this system refused to admit this of course and insisted they could "rock" a gym full of 800 kids with a double L1 system, but all those same people couldn't trade up fast enough when the new 12" driver B2 bass module was released a year or so ago.

In all fairness, I don't think anyone can match their portable products; sound dock, etc. None that I've heard, anyways.

It could fill a gym with sound, yes... but the sound wouldn't be very good.
