    practicing without pissing off neighbors

    Input?

I have a doctor living on the floor under me and a med student on the other side of my living room wall.

I don't think there's much of an alternative for hearing your mixes other than monitors... I doubt you can use two sets of headphones at once.

What do y'all do? Any suggestions?? Thanks!

    Play better music.

But on a serious note, just turn it down a bit? It's practice. Speak to your neighbors who are bothered by it and ask when it would be appropriate to practice at the sound volume you prefer - late mornings, early evening, whatever.

Either soundproof the walls or turn it down. Or you could just move into a house.

This is very expensive to even properly soundproof, at least that was my understanding.

Don't you mean split cue (if the mixer supports it)? I mean, the IEM is just the type of monitor and you could mix in the headphones with over-the-ears, couldn't you?

    Speak to them

    Explain your hobby

Ask them times they may be out

Or if it ever gets to loud give them your contact number so they can tell you

Lucky for me I'm in a detached house so neighbours are not an issue although I've still gone about it like this

This would be perfect... I need to look into it.

Mixer... I will be using a controller (DDJ SZ - waiting for it to ship). I'm wondering if this would support it?

Headphones... I bought HD25s last week and I ordered HD8s yesterday.

Any recommendations for IEM? Price isn't much of an issue...

    ETA:I appreciate the input
