Thread: Thing about getting Technics SL-1200 M3D

  1. #31
Wear and tear of the years can lead one to believe they have bad wiring issues.

However, here are things to consider.

He might have an isolated issue, that happen to ONE of his M3D's.

    OR

He doesn't have a bad wiring issue, he might have a BAD HANDLING issue.

I have an M3D...and I have no problems with it (not to mention, I bought it used, with an odyssey case for $25)

I've got a pair of M3Ds, they're awesome. Same features as a MK5 (only difference being the incandescent pop up light, and 0-3 grams anti skating adjustment) but cheaper! I scored my pair for $350 with Ortofons and Flightcases from GuitarCenter. I do kind of want a pair of MK2s just for the hell of it.

That's like the best deal ever for Techs. I paid twice that for mine and thought I was getting a deal, the local market for turntables here has gotten out of control in the last 6 months, can't find just one for less than $450, no cart or case.

M3Ds are where it's at. Used to have a second setup where one deck was the MK2 and the other was an M3D. After a week or two, I was about the toss the MK2 out the window simply for the 0-pitch notch. The M3D served me well. Never heard of any downside to them, really - definitely not any cable issues.

Bought my M3Ds in 01, no problems. Still perform as new. OP's question has been answered.
