Umm according to the video and the specs on the Pioneer website the DDJ SZ
1. Play nice with Serato, Traktor and Virtual DJ
2. Have DVS support for Serato DJ
3. Have an independent mixer section
4. Support two laptops (ala the Rane 68) for easy transitions between DJs.
5.
6. Robustly built
7. Has to have excellent jog wheels, RGB velocity sensitive buttons and just a well thought out and laid out control surface.
8.
I am guessing closer to $2000......it looks like it functions well.
One thing I did notice was the touch strips are still under the FX control. I watched a couple vid on the SX and guys said that could cause problems if not payed attention to when tweeking the FX.
I really just use the jogs on my NS6 for nudging when beatmatching, but those may inspire me to learn some scratches.
I unless someone can beat that.....I want it. Only competition I can see is the NS7 mk2. But this takes controllers to the next level. They even incorporated the color FX and added an oscillator.
We were just talking about club standard controllers too in another thread.

Looks like the NS7II might have a bit of competition now. The SZ looks like a pretty solid controller.

Correct it doesn't have Rekordbox #8 on the list...the only box it doesn't tick. If you go to about 4:45 in the walk through video you will hear him say
To me that suggest that you can plug a computer running Serato on one USB and a computer running Traktor or VDJ (because both will work on the soundcard and VDJ can even use the sound card for DVS) on the other USB. Then when you unplug the computer running Serato, it will switchover to full 4 deck control of Traktor. That is what I am reading between the lines. So I consider that box 5 checked.will work as a midi controller and soundcard for any music or dj software with the same switchover capabilities and even connect two different audio applications from the same computer at once
