this thread seriously makes me lol every time i look at it... c'mon guys, really? maybe i just don't understand the benefit of having a facebook page with a bunch of 'likes' from people who potentially have very little to no interest in what i'm doing. is it a method of inflating your 'fanbase' to trick promoters into thinking you're more popular than you really are? an ego boost thing?
what happened to the idea of building connections in a more organic way, based off you know uh... common interest? if i'm wrong or overlooking something (which i could be), someone please enlighten me.

Momentum builds momentum. If my friend has a 4-like artist page, back when I was selective about what interests I wanted to display, I wouldn't bother with that. But if my friend has 350 likes, with no change in how much I like the music, I would more likely want to support it since I feel it's really going somewhere and that extra like is actually furthering his or her efforts.
If we get more likes, we get others whose attention we have to bother to like it for just that reason. It has nothing to do with tricking promoters and everything to do with gaining the credibility needed for people to stop and take a listen, and actually decide if they are your fan or not, rather than being glossed over in the first place.

AND, can anyone explain "people talking about this page" icon?Ok guys, some of you know I aint a facebook guru. Someone went to my face book page & "Liked" it last night. I went to the page to see who it was & .... it's changed!
Now again, I dont "do" the facebook thing. No one ever goes to my page so... I dont go to it. So, I was completely surprised when I went there & its different. Now I am more lost than I was before.... I hate facebook
My question is, how do I see who liked me on my business page? I went to "likes" & it shows I have 30, but I cant see who liked it...
The page I had set up with pictures & comments is nowhere to be found... The comments are there but no pics. Now, people who go there read the comments & are like ... WTH? .... I hate facebook
1) How should I know... Ask the client!
2) If you put it where I can see it, I'm gonna look at it. If you don't want me to see it, keep it covered up.
