Yesterday was Record Store Day, and I headed out with my 5-year-old son X (who was quite well-behaved) on a mission around Tulsa to score some RSD exclusives. I know I bought a bit too much for my budget, but I wanted to get them while they were still available.

For the most part, I got quite lucky. Most of these won't garner much respect from a DJ standpoint, but here's what I got:
    .
    • Katy Perry - "Part of Me" (Jacques Lu Cont Thin White Duke Mix) opaque pink vinyl 12". Wow, what an impressively thick slab of vinyl!
    • Childish Gambino - "Heartbeat" opaque red vinyl 12".
    • Garbage - "Blood for Poppies" opaque white vinyl 7" with Butch Vig remix.
    • Foster the People - "Broken Jaw"/"Ruby" translucent orange vinyl 7".
    • Florence + the Machine - "Shake It Out" 7" with the Weeknd Mix.
    • Lana Del Rey - "Born To Die"/"Blue Jeans" 7" with Damon Albarn remixes of both tracks. This turned out to be the most impressive of the batch, musically... both the remixes are quite good.

Went to the record shop yesterday for Record Store Day. Ended up ignoring all of the special releases and picking up a load of old school hip hop wax including this gem. Really pleased!

‎"When you get so overly involved in the music scene you kinda tend to dance less. You get to a club and you usually know the promoter or the DJ, and you end up socialising instead of going nuts on the dancefloor. It’s shit actually.” - Jackmaster

happy belated record store day to ya'll too! unfortunately, was too busy yesterday to make it out but i snagged this earlier last week...

    Windy City/Illvester - Chicago/Feel Real (Kon Edits) - http://www.discogs.com/Windy-City-3-...elease/3514511

Not sure what the a-side is an edit of but it's a serious boogie tune, the flip is a dope rework of sf disco legend Sylvester's You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real). check the a-side here, brownie points if you can ID the original tune:
