Would this projector fit the requirements?

It is bright enough and has a high contrast ratio but does not have a USB reader. You'd either have to hard wire your image source or get the optional HDMI dongle for wireless image transmission.

    Bill,

Could you recommend a projector that would allow me to display video monograms in color in medium to big venues but also have other purposes?

I use a huge white projectionscreen as a wall behind my dj booth. In the beginning of the evening i shine a white picture with the projector on it..lenscap on it, so it becomes a white wash effect on the screen. Later i use the screen to project the couples images, monogram (picture or as a movie: https://videohive.net/tags/wedding%20pack), guests powerpoints...and during the party some nice videoclips.

Will you be using a screen?

No screen. Just throwing it on a wall. I was thinking about purchasing the BenQ MU686 3500-Lumen WUXGA DLP Projector.

You should probably go brighter, somewhere in the 5000 lumen range.

So this is the one I decided to go with. Optoma EH504 WIFI Projector 5000 Lumen, 15000:1 contrast ratio.

What size should the image be? What is the best format? How do I minimize the blue bleeding around the image?

You didn't notice, I'm a vendor. Might have been able to save you money.

To loose the blue, set your image background to black.
