It was more for looks that anything. They had about 600 people there, but the sub amps weren't even at 50% to handle the gig.
Edit: The groom wanted a "bad-ass" system on hand...

EV ELX215's. They are OK, nothing special. I will be switching over to BF tops later this summer.
I'm guessing weddings are a little bit different around here... Most weddings I do are huge parties that go until the wee hours in the morning. (This one was no exception and I heard that many people kept partying long after I was gone...) (We don't have any real good clubs to speak of anywhere near by, so people get their fill at a good wedding!) This particular one was held in a small town (population less than 1,000) and there were over 600 people at the reception/dance, many from hours away. Every spare room in town was rented and many people slept in their vehicles. I heard the crowd went through 5-6 kegs of beer, about 4 dozen bottles of red-eye and apple pie, and damn near drank the bar at the hall dry (many, many cases of beer and bottles of liquor).
Yes, I do some weddings that are scaled back with far less system and more of your typical uptown wedding, but these small town bashes are by far my favorite type!
Oh and those are Yorkville ls1208's so they "only" have a single 18 sub in each cab, so there isn't as many woofers there as you would think...
My new Turbosound system.
