I hear what the OP is saying though. Unfortunately the prior models have more or less skewed the brand view though. The one thing I do think that beats did well on is marketing. Without the marketing nobody would have bought them.

yah, they probably are good. the issue is the price and that your can get better quality DJ headphones for that much. for a dj, these aren't the best choice since we're constantly taking them on and off, throwing them around and whatnot.. for the average ipod user, these are tops.
