    Thoughts?
The Stanton ST.150 and STR8.150 are great turntables, in my opinion.

When I returned to DJing this year and was looking to purchase some new equipment, I chose a pair of Stanton ST.150's not due to the price, but based on professional reviews.

After using the turntables for several weeks, I could not be more satisfied with my decision to go with the Stanton turntables. I will probably add a third turntable later this year, too.

I got one of my 1200M3D's about 6 months ago at a Guitar Center in NH with the original Dust cover and Ortofon Electro cart for $300. Literally looks and works like NEW. Then about a month later got the 2nd one from a private seller near me that was also in perfect condition with a Shure cart for $325. Not one scratch or scuff on either. Picked up a pair of Odyssey cases for $100 and I'm good to go. I'm extremely meticulate with them and they hardly ever come out of the cases. Protect your investment, these tables were built to last. 30 years later most of them are still working, that's quality and reliability you can't find in almost ANY product these days... There are even better deals out there... you just gotta find them and jump on them when the time is right. I spent 6 months looking for the right ones and I found the ones I'm most happy with. Good Luck all!

I've owned both pairs of turntables and here are my pros and cons for both

    Stanton

    Pros
    -torquey motor
    -detachable cables
    -price
-the extra features (brake/start adjusts, pitch +/- 50)

    Cons
    -lower quality build
    -not technics 1200

    Technics 1200

    Pros
    -known long term reliability
    -parts are of high quality
    -feels more refined

    Cons
    -discontinued
-I feel the pitch doesn't hold as well as the Stanton's. Maybe it's just my pair

Which is quite simple if you are half mechanically inclined. Actually all maintenance so far I have been able to do myself to include tonearm replacement which takes precision and quality soldering.

The Stanton decks haven't been around long enough to determine the build quality compared to a Technics.

I can confirm that my cousin's ST100s were falling to bits after two years.

The ST.100 cannot be compared to the ST.150/STR8.150.
