what kills me is the $200 dj can get by with $200 cuz they dont pay taxes or buy insurance.

pisses me off that i pay tax on e ery single gig i do - cash or otherwise - so i cant always afford to replace gear or advertise everywhere i want but the hooligan over there that isnt paying taxes does because their expenses are way leas!!!

    Sadly, not around here.
I start at $350 for setup and 4 hours of music.
I got told today that I'm too damned expensive and why so much compared to the other guys on Craigslist.

There seem to be several $150 DJs just started here in the last year. C'est' la vie

Again, be ready to show them why you are more than a $150 Craigslist DJ. Don't bore them with insurance, etc. just say its because you are a legit company. Send them to your website.
