Guess it depends on what you use it for. The DB4 is waaaay too much mixer for me because even the DJM-700 is more mixer than I need. Give me 2-4 channels, EQs, crossfader, line faders, line trims some cue controls and I'm good. A master and booth out are also nice. But, then again, I just mix and don't use effects.

I played this game before, I went from a Xone 92 linear traded it and went to a DJM 800 linear, then bought a Xone 92 Rotary, then sold my DJM 800 Rotary, then sold the Xone 92 Rotary and got a Rane Empath Rotary and then repurchased a standard DJM 800. This is what I have now. You are moving laterally with just newer versions of that equipment.

What I learned was that I wasted alot of time and effort and probably some devaluation on all of the equipment.

How much do you think people are willing to pay for a MINT condition DB4? It is truly right out the box condition. I have all the Original Packaging and items. I've only used it a few times in a Cabaret, and Holiday Style event. I have a sales guy that is willing to sell me a BRAND NEW DJM 900 for $1635. I'm looking to come out the other end saving a few bucks if I sell my DB4. If its going to be hard to sell for a profit, then I will consider keeping it. Either way, I don't think I can lose.

Like I said before, to the right buyer you could probably get some good money for a DB4. However, since most people are familiar with Pioneer products, I think you will have a hard time getting an amount anywhere close to what you paid for it.

What did you end up doing? I've actually been considering a similar switch as the DB4 is just way too much for me.

This thread is nuts, I wish I could afford a DB4. Sure the 900 is good, but take a look at it. It looks dated and its old tech. Keep the a&h

I understand that the DJM900 is not as cutting edge as the DB4 in terms of technology but I just feel like for my type of mixing I am not going to really use the majority of the minimalistic FX of the DB4. I rarely mix with FX as it is and if I'm going to throw something in during a build up its going to be some noise or filter. Yes, the DB4 filters are awesome but for me they come at the price of the busy layout. Than there is the whole industry standard thing..

I'll get flamed for saying this but A&H is turning into a high-end version of Denon, which isn't a bad thing, but it's something I'm not a fan of.
