Check out the electro thread in the Techno forum. Most people in there have respect for the music and the history behind it, you could learn quite a bit.

I'm a b-boy and well people always call it break dancing when it's definitely not called that and along with many of the other misnomers that come along with breaking that the mainstream media incorrectly states. Along with the term "popping and locking," they are two completely different dance styles. Anyways, I'm just saying I am open-minded to what you or anyone has to say if they are willing to say it!
The Wiki article on electro is a good starting point: -

For me personally, I got into electro through the Street Sounds Electro series of compilation albums that was released in the UK starting in 1983. I'd heard a handful of electro tracks before that, but those comps are what really got me into it and I think some of the early volumes are a good starting point if you're looking for music to check out, although that said, even though the albums were called "electro" they also featured some tracks that were just straight up hip-hop as well. Crucial Electro 1 is a good one and features some of the staple classics: -

And yes, my sole objection to people using the term "electro" for electro house is not because I dislike electro house (although I do), it's because it's confusing using the same term for 2 different styles of music. I know I'm fighting a largely lost cause with this, much like you are with b-boying and "breakdancing", but I do still think it's worthwhile bringing it up.

Thank you for the advice, however, this is not MY track first off, just a very difficult find that took me months. Second off the flatness you speak of is merely a lack of bit rate, it isn't the highest quality you'll find the track to reach as most artists these days aren't going to give out their tracks for free with a 320 kbps file like that. I can assure you this track blows shit up every time I mix it, and if you have a proper PA system BOOM, one of my favorite tracks right now
