I bought a gemini tt 2000 (stupid, I know (I do have other turntables, but this was a good deal)) and it has no serial number that I can find and doesn't match the images I find online.
Also it has NOOOOOOO torque at all. I'm talking platter stops if you so much as lay a finger on it forget about stopping the record, it's got wax paper and a slipmat on it so it should be pretty low friction but the platter stops nonetheless. I find it hard to believe that any company (yes even gemini) would sell a turntable with less torque than my grandmother's belt-drive cheap cd-player/record-player/radio combo.
Has anybody used a Gemini TT-2000? Just wondering if it really is this bad or it's a fake Gemini product. I might as well be spinning records on a lazy-susan with how absolutely powerless this turntable is.
