yeah I really don't get the dutch house influence that seems to be trending... why does that appeal to people?

It's because the musical trend is getting ready for another bandwagon to lead/fleece the flock.

It seems to be a broken beat based trend, followed by a four beat trend, lasting 5 years of "popularity" cycle (even though the genres are around before that period/after that period of being on the radar)
