    This is Dubstep?

This is dubstep?! #76 on Beatport? How can anyone listen to this whole thing. How could this dude even spend this much time producing this without wanting to bash his own head in?

Or do I just not like this because I've never been to a rave where they play this kind of music....

dismantle is hit and miss for me, i don't mind this too much but Computation is just stupid.

However his release on Terrain, 'Broke' and 'Times Up' is incredible, and much more obviously dubstep.

also the beatport top 100 dubstep tracks is a terrible representation of what good dubstep is
Juno's sales charts are a much better reflection of the best releases at the moment

Not my thing... But then again neither is Country, and people love that shit! Different strokes my friend.

I know why: because it's bordering on Tropical Bass and is probably around 140 BPM. They lump stuff like Kuduro and Cumbia and Tribal Guarachero in the "Dubstep" section, as well, for the simple fact that they're just not sure where to put them. They probably consider them too "fast" and "broken" to be put in the "Electro House" section, but don't quite consider them "Breaks" or "Techno" or anything else... so they just stick it all in with the Dubstep. They reckon it's all at the same BPM (and so few people look for this music), who really cares?

But if you do want to hear stuff in the same vein that's better...

The label is actually responsible for classifying the genre when they upload the release.

That so? Well, guess they still face the same problem, then...
