Sander Van Doorn used to be one of the leading players in Trance, his days of Sam Sharp are well and truly gone, what is happening to music?

“I just got signed to his label, Roc Nation. So he’s [Jay-Z] my new best friend.”
wowowowowowow, this is an interesting move on both parties. i'm...actually interested to see where this goes
It's kinda depressing.
10 years ago when I was into trance I remember him making great, unique techy stuff that I'd probably still enjoy now. I l listened to him recently out of curiosity (from noticing he's a pretty big name these days) and it seems he's been well and truly bitten by the pop-EDM bug now.
Ah well, plenty great music out there now and he's paid his underground dues so I'm not gonna get hung up on it...
I remember the first time I heard his name.....his remix of AvBs "Control Freak" got on ASOT 2006. I remember him getting mentioned every week on Eddie Halliwells Radio 1 show; SvD even guest hosted once. I have the Mixmag CD SvD made called "Fast and Furious", and I still love that mix. SvD used to make great tech trance; in recent years his music has slowed down and now it seems the tech trance scene is flooded with this 132 bpm proggy crap. And now this? This....isn't good. But at least we can say "hey, remember when SvD made great tracks?" vs David Guetta, which we say "so when is he going to stop?".
