A lot of clubs don't last, and there's always a zillion idiots lining up for their 15 minutes of fame. It's not all fun and games in that sort of business, quite often the opposite. On the other hand I can't quite believe that EVERYTHING in Melbourne is shutting down.

Trust me, I get that a lot of bars don't last. When I wassss 15 or 16 there was heaps of local bars I wanted to play at because they were the regular haunts of the guys I looked up to.

I grew up and hosted gigs and or Dj'd in them ALL! EVERY LAST ONE OF THEM! Yet for most I had never known because during that time the bar had changed names and owners and so forth and because I was too young to go years again, at the time I didn't even realise I was running the clubs I'd dreamed of even attending as a teenager.

So, I love that! except, now, a lot of them aren't just changing management anymore, they're actually CLOSING. The one that was recently operated the same Friday night gig for 10 years! Now, ok I can understand 100% why business for that venue went to the shitter and it wasn't so much about government intervention or anything like that, (Though it may have played a part), but there was a LOT of things this particular venue could have done to keep up with the times but simply didn't do or failed to do right. The result, dwindling numbers.

It's a night mare. It just feels like EVERYTHING is just, really, really dismal here. It seriously feels like nightlife is dying.

You could start by finding a bar with a basement or function room, and putting on your own night?!
