    DJForum Top 100 Producers

This should be fun. Pick your top 5 producers from the last 365 days. October 2011 til October 2012. You've got a month and then I'll add them all up and hopefully we'll have enough for a 100 list. It'll be better than the DJ Mag top 100 DJs.

    My picks:

    Armin Van Buuren
    Calvin Harris
    Alesso
    Eric Prydz
    W&W

    For me persoanlly :

1 - Eric prydz ( Pryda ) - The album was long awaited and the sounds on there are really up my street. Amazing album. I like the fact he doesn't make a shit load of albums JUST for money, that thing has been in the making for like 3 years or something stupid. Original sound also.

2 - Calvin Harris - He released a good few tunes this year, plus there is never really a release that ISN'T successfull, plus he's Scottish like me so yeah Oh and Iron <3

3 - Mikael Weermets - Big year for him, really put himself out their on the scene! Love his tracks and edits, plus i messaged him on soundcloud about an edit he done and he sent me it within 3 days ( Or his PA or did i dunno ! )

4 - Quintino - Again love his sound, really making a name for himself.

5 - Nause - Really like these guys, especially their track Mellow so they get in there too!

In fairness there are a host of people who could be in my top 5 :

    - Nicky romero
    - Tom Swoon
    - Dada life
    - Bingo players
    - R3hab ( The bottle song!!!)
    - Nervo <3
    - Wolfgang Gardner
    - Avicii
    - Psy..........Sexxxyyyyy ladaaayyyyyy! ( i kid i kid! )

I could go on and on!

    1. Hudson Mohawke - His own tracks are usually fantastic (and always interesting), not to mention his work with Lunice as TNGHT or his production of a slew of great hip hop records this year. The best thing to come out of Scotland since 12 year old Single Malt.

    2. Disclosure - One of the most exciting production duos in electronic music right now. A unique sound that is becoming very influential. Their remix of Jessie Ware has been one of the biggest cross-over records of the past year, and their original productions are absolutely sublime. Extremely talented.

    3. Rustie - His 2011 album Glass Swords absolutely blew my mind. Even now, a year on, it still sounds like the future...

    4. Eats Everything - He's gone from zero to hero in the last 2 years and the past 12 months have seen him produce some of the best tracks and remixes of the year in my opinion. The support for his tracks from DJs across the board is incredible.

    5. Huxley - He's been bubbling away under the surface with some of the biggest tracks of 2012, and I think he's going to be one to watch in 2013.

‎"When you get so overly involved in the music scene you kinda tend to dance less. You get to a club and you usually know the promoter or the DJ, and you end up socialising instead of going nuts on the dancefloor. It’s shit actually.” - Jackmaster

    1. Can't Decide
    2. Etnik
    3. Gesaffelstein
    4. Fred V & Grafix or someone from Viper/Ram/Hospital
    5. Some Trap shit (Baauur or Ookay)

Rant : I can't listen to any of Calvin Harrison's new stuff and take him seriously anymore, considering his old stuff but I guess Electro House .

Camo & Krooked - Must say I have been quite impressed with these two
Wolfgang Gartner - quite a few good tracks
Eric Prydz - I like people who prep their music instead of releasing bland synths sounds every 6 months
Marilyn Manson - Not strictly EDM but very electronic regardless, sound quality on anything he does is smart and squeaky clean.
Liam Howlett - from The Prodigy, enough said. They have something lined up and being released very soon.
DJ Shadow - enough said already

    1. Chris Lake - From the same town as me and i just love how all his tracks are different. A very overlooked DJ/Producer.
    2. Joris Voorn - Love the vibe he gives all his tracks.. Don't think i need to say much more
    3. Faithless - I know they are more a band rather than single, but i always find myself listening to them if i'm chilling out, or getting ready to go out..
    4. Calvin Harris - I'm not a commercial kinda guy but this guy does what he does in great fashion!
    5. Eric Prydz - I don't even listen to the guy that much but when i do, it's an experience.

    2. Joris Voorn - Definitely overlooked this year at #148. He is pushing boundaries regarding controllers.
    3. A-Trak - I know he's more of a DMC guy but his skill is out of this world.
    4. Carl Cox - The big man always knows how to put on a show.
    5. Eric Prydz - I don't even listen to the guy that much but when i do, it's an experience.
