    DJM400 Headphone Jack Replacement

So I show up to a gig Saturday night everything is going good. Then BAM it happened. No sound coming from headphones, I knew it wasn't the headphones because they where new and I had been using them seconds before then. I got to looking at my mixer and the phone jack was loose I started moving the jack around to catch any kind of sound and heard the short on the wires going in and out. Looking in to it further the headphone jack is messed up. This mixer is about two years old and hasn't failed me yet until now, Luckily I had a buddy down the road who had a spare mixer he brought me and that saved the night.

Anyways has anyone ever replaces that jack on the DJM400 I already have the mixer apart and its still connected and I found the service manual online but it doesn't exactly tell you how to change it.

Anyone have any advice? Please and thank you!!

Can you open it up again a post a photo of the jack? If you can desolder then the hard bit will be finding a like-for-like replacement. It's probably just be a straight swap.

in to follow this thread. i have a djm 400 and i was mixing last nite and having the same problem.

headphone jack need some love. i blame it on the long cord that came with my sennheisers.

i havent pulled mine apart yet, i was hoping it was just a solder joint that broke loose that i could resolder..

Yeah for sure, I'll post some pictures. I still have it apart I gotta order that part for it. They may even have it at radio shack. Like I said I have the service manual for it I just haven't dived into to much. I will do it tonight for sure once I get home from work

Sometimes on Pioneer mixers, the jack just comes lose from the circuit board that it's soldered to. Then you just have to solder it back again. A properly designed mixer has a headphone jack that's screwed to the front plate and doesn't wiggle lose by usage.

Yeah it was screwed onto the case, but over time I think it just came loose.

Yeah I have the same issue where my jack works, but comes unscrewed over time and wiggles. I ended up putting some of that white cloth electrical tape on the jack and screwing the nut over it for temporary relief, but alas its loose again.
