I wouldn't be surprised if the poll wasn't rigged at all. In fact, there's no real surprises to be found in this list if you just think about who actually votes in these polls.

Diplo's #102, just behind Justice. Neither of those results are particularly surprising. A-Trak may have been omitted entirely, but how many people do you think actually voted for him? Not too many, man. He's still not exactly a household name, "Barbara Streisand" and all.

Since it's "based on popular vote", I can see the list looking the way it does. Most people don't know diplo and a-trak despite how incredibly talented they are. I voted AvB, Gareth Emery, Dash Berlin, Alesso, and Avicii, mainly based on their production skill and not actual DJ skill.

Eh, I'd say that more people know about A-Trak than say, Alesso (#20). Whatever though.

Just because you produce doesn't mean you can dj.
So it wasn't just me...Maybe they should switch this to the top 100 producer/DJ combinations....

Alesso really pulled it together this year with a few huge tours, not to mention every track he makes ends up in the beatport top100. He really reached out, to two different nightclubs about 20 minutes from my house, as opposed to most bigger DJs only gigging in NYC. A lot of the newer EDM fans (who are more likely to vote this year than a seasoned fan) can identify better with him because he's one of the "hottest" producers right now in terms of sales and track popularity. At least 4 or 5 of them this year alone. I've heard he is relatively new to DJing though, only started a few years ago after becoming a producer. I haven't seen much of A-Trak this year except the Big Bad Wolf maybe? That was only one track. I believe you're supposed to vote for DJs based on their past year of work. A-Trak had some really awesome skillsets in years before.

I think you are confused on the differences between a DJ and a producer.

idk man. It's seriously subjective and the argument is the equivalent of arguing if a ring is better or a necklace is better.
