setting up problems

Hey

I'm trying to set up a mini home studio and have a few questions about setting up.

I have the Audio 8 DJ and I'm trying to use my MacBook Pro so I can use Ableton and I have the HS50m studio monitors.

What cable do I need to route my monitors to my audio 8? basically I don't want to use my built in speakers on my laptop, I want to use the monitors

You need balanced cables with TRS connections.

The audio 8 doesn't have any balanced outputs.

To use it, you need RCA to 1/4" TS cables (one for each speaker). You can get them at any music supply store or website…or amazon.

If the cable runs are short, they'll work. When you first plug them in, don't play any music and turn the monitors up. If you hear weird noise and/or the radio, then you need to upgrade to a sound card with balanced outs. If you don't hear that noise, upgrade when you actually need to upgrade.
