Mastering - Can someone recommend someone who specifically masters EDM tracks?

    Hello, All

I'm looking for someone or a company that does mastering, specifically with EDM. I've used a few online before and they turned out OK or not great. They master all kinds of music. just looking for someone who is more specified with EDM.
    \\thanks.

ryan enzed. You cant polish poop though. Mastering is actually 99% in the mixing. It mainly just raises the volume and some slight eq tweaks

Yep, mastering is an art, but it doesn't fix what is fundamentally wrong. the final mix should be good, then the mastering can give it that bit extra that makes it special.

But really, take a good look at effects, compressors and whatnot you've used, because mastering isn't the answer

Anyone willing to take the question at face value?

http://innerportalstudio.com/ is a good start, Tarekith frequents a lot of music forums and definitely knows his shit.

Skeyelab, a.k.a. Eric Dahl was a member here back in djf 1.0 and he does professional track and mix set mastering. He did some work for a few members, so he might be what you're looking for.

I'll see if I can contact him and get him to comment.

    Hey all.

Thanks for thinking of me. I do still do mastering and mixing.

For those that don't know me, I am a recording/mastering engineer from Chicago. I recently recorded all 4 stages at North Coast Music Festival, a Mumford & Sons festival, and a bunch of other smaller stuff.

I record all genres, but typically master EDM stuff.

    I'd love to help.

The mixing is definitely more important than the mastering. Mastering is a final touch, the mixing is crucial. Even though much of making your own EDM is rolling mixing into your production process, I might still work with a mixing engineer to finish my work. I know a fair amount but damn there's so much more to learn.
