Observations From An Older Dj Part 2

Not to undermine anyone and or their talents.

I have been going through random dj forums and doing my own research for my own knowledge and have noticed that on many of the general discussion forums, there are so many tech questions related to Xone this , X2 this, S4 there..

Im transitioned to Traktor myself but its just amazing to see how overwhelming technology can be these days. So many djs are spending months learning their gear before even creating a set- not that its a bad thing.

Again, nothing wrong with it but just an observation of how times have changed. Hey, I have embraced it! Haven't touched a cd in a long time...

yeah. i sometimes think that people are too caught up in their Gear and its more about that than it is about the music.

Sometimes i read issues on here about gear that i have never even experienced or would have experienced or would have cared about - for example - i have been using cdj 800s for years. Ive heard people here complain about the fact that their pitch only do .5% increments, or that the pioneer sound quality is so bad etc. Ive never really needed to match my beats so perfectly where i thought that the .5% wasnt enough. With electronic dance music the stuff are so well produced (if you have proper good quality copies of the mp3s) that its not really needed to have such detail.

But having said that, I'd love to have nice gear too.
