    Forum Settings Help - I'm a noob

    Hello,

I am wondering a few things about the forum and how it works, from a technical standpoint.

First off, it appears I do not have permission to post in HTML code, so I can't embed my mixes, et cetera.

Second, how do I receive notifications that someone has either replied to a thread I've started, or that someone else has written on a thread I am on? I have it checked off at the bottom where it says "Subscribe to this thread..." and I want to receive notifications via email. Nothing comes in my email, though. Also tried notifications through control panel, but I don't know exactly what the control panel is, and I haven't seen any notifications.

Third, how do I delete a thread I've created?

That's all I can think of for now. Thanks!

HTML is disabled, but you can use BB Code to embed your mixes from certain sites, pictures, etc. Look at the tool bar when you're posting. Some are immediately obvious, but stuff like embedding from soundcloud isn't on the tool bar for some reason. (You just take the URL of your Soundcloud mix and do [.soundcloud] url here [/.soundcloud] without the .)

Here's the BBCode for embedding content from supported sites: -

    YouTube/Vimeo: -

[ video ]URL to the video[ /video ]

    SoundCloud: -

    [ soundcloud ]URL to the mix/track[ /soundcloud ]

    Mixcloud: -

    [ mixcloud ]URL to the mix/track[ /mixcloud ]

Just remove the spaces from inside the square brackets when you do it. I had to add spaces or the forum would have tried to convert my examples into embedded players.

Subscriptions should work as you described. Did you choose the "instant notification via email" option? Cos there's several options for email notifications. Another explanation is that the emails are getting caught up by a spam filter. I don't use subscriptions though, so maybe they're broken. You could try asking if there's any issues here: -

In short, you can not delete any threads or posts that you have made. In posts, you can edit your posts & remove the text but, you have to put some text in the post before you can save it.
Otherwise, if you need a post or an entire thread removed, you can contact a moderator or administrator & we can remove them for you.

    Hope this helps

    1) How should I know... Ask the client!
    2) If you put it where I can see it, I'm gonna look at it. If you don't want me to see it, keep it covered up.

You could always use the PHP tag

    PHP Code:
    [video]URL to the video[/video]

    [
    soundcloud]URL to the mix/track[/soundcloud]

    [
    mixcloud]URL to the mix/track[/mixcloud
