    Name drops

i'm not sure what there called but i often hear mixes from other dj's with there name being dropped into it..

how would you go about doing this or getting this done?
i don't want anything fancy and if it's possible i would prefer to do it myself. .

You can do it yourself pretty easily. Use Audacity (free) with a mic to record your drop.

You're listening to the smooth sounds of RabbitMonk
"You're in the mix with RabbitMonk"
    DJ RabidMonkey

Save as an MP3, or whatever format you prefer. You can use some of the effects in Audacity to modify the sound - adding phaser, echo, flange, or other effects. You can also add tracks to import backing music or sound effects (whistle, siren, whatever) to the drop.

Look on YOutube for some simple tutorials ... "How to make a DJ name drop with Audacity" or something like that.

    Hope that helps.

You can go with a service... I used Mitch Craig... You pay more, but his voice is known nationally...

You can do it yourself with a mic and audacity... or have someone else do the voiceover for you.

You can hit a spot like www.fiverr.com where, for $5, you can find someone to do a quick voiceover for you. I've used fiverr.com for the guy who does the Obama impersonation on some of my intros... You can't beat it for $5.

Here he is at the beginning...

suppose it will be good doing your own because you can say whatever you like in whatever fashion.. issue with my voice is that it's quite deep probally sounds stupid, but thats where effects come into play.

I get mine done from Paul Fabrick over at basslinevoiceovers.com. He's great to deal with, reasonable, and usually sends the files REALLY quickly, depending on how much other work he has on his plate.

If you contact him for a quote, please let him know DJ Badger sent you.
