Aw man, I would love to do regular 5 hour gigs. Most gigs here are shared with a lineup of djs so you get 1 hour or 2 tops. Back when I lived in Nanning, I used to play a local bar with a really cool owner who would let me set up and have free play on my cdjs all night. I would usually go from 10-3 but also would go till 4 or 5 some nights. It was very tiring but I just felt so free to play whatever and really let the vibe stretch and get quite out there. I miss those days a little now. I think a 4-5 gig would be perfect as you can get into a groove and dig deeper in your chest of musical gems while also not exhausting yourself.

I have "pee break" mixes. Basically 2-3 songs premixed for when I have to go to the rest room or the waitress is a being a bitch and not getting me drinks and I have to go to the bar to get it myself.

I do free play every Tuesday night for three hours. It's always the hilight of my week. Nothing can beat freelancing.

just finished a three hour set. i think longer or opening sets are really the most challenging cause you can't just bang away and you have to know your music better.

Marvin Gaye "Got To Give It Up" is my number 1 toilet track. A few weeks back I put it on, took a toilet break, then took a walk round the block to fetch my car and park it outside the bar (all the good parking was taken earlier) and when I got back there was still about four minutes of Marvin left! (Hot 8 Brass Band's cover of "Sexual Healing" is a close second).

"Get Low" - all five minutes and thirty-three seconds of it The room loves it, knows it by heart, and wants to hear the whole thing anyway. If I can't get 'er done by then, I've got a problem.

"Outta Your Mind" - same idea but it's a minute shorter so I have to get right on it.

Actually what I usually do is load two tracks and make a run for it, but "Get Low" is always a chance for me to get out and move around. I do 4 1/2 hour nights guys.

I do 5+ hour nights every week, and sometimes even 8 hours if it's a busy Friday or something. I've found myself only having to take a piss maybe once or twice, never the #2. 3-5 minutes for a song to play out is usually more than enough time for a bathroom break. Too bad my CDJ-1000's don't have a shuffle mode....I mean I paid a lot of money for them and a $10 CD player has shuffle.

Keep a bottle of water on ice and slip it throughout the night. When you have to pee, put it under your DJ booth, pull out your todger, and pee into it. I don't know why you guys are all worried about taking so many dumps. If you have to normally splash bombs every 5 hours, you have a fucked up digestive track.

Glad you enjoyed the first time. How did you do it?
