According to the honchos at the Pioneer forum they can't.

I don't care what bad things y'all say about CDs. It's still fun to use them. LOL. For when I ever upgrade, I'll look at a less expensive professional CD player with an SD card slot... LOL. Will I look funny with those $1000 CD players with my collection of CDs that are as dead as these. LOL.

LOL this is part of my cassette collection in the 80s. I know these are dead! LOL

I still collect tapes too man. I've got loads of them. One of my crates: -

A tape I bought a couple of weeks ago: -

And one I bought earlier in the year: -

Fuck spending money on MP3s ever! That's real last resort "I can't get this anywhere else" shit to me.

You know 900's read USB's and are a much cheaper option?

I don't think CDs are going to vanish anytime soon.

    1. Many smaller clubs and bars haven't made the step towards the latest generation CDJs (by which I mean all models capable of reading USB sticks) yet and probably will wait some time (at least until their recent equipment breaks, and even then I can't see every bar owner investing big money into a pair of new CDJs). So if you play in venues like that, USB is not an option. You can either go the laptop (with or without controller) route or keep burning CDs. Unless you don't want to have each of your tracks as well on a USB stick as on a CD (or are famous enough to demand every piece of gear you want in your rider) it might be wiser to stick to CDs until at least the majority of the places you play has upgraded to new generation CDJs.

    2. There actually aren't that few DJs that still play vinyl, and just burn some promos or tracks they can't get elsewhere on a CD to play it in their set. I don't see those guys switching to USB so fast either, as they usually still play vinyl out of conviction that digital formats are inferior.

I would rather sort through a jacket of CDs at a gig than stare at a laptop screen for hours.
