well there is that, but djing is no more musician than bricklaying
^truth. all it means is you have an ounce of rythm.
And a lot of these kids nowadays can't even make a decent brick wall, let alone build something that actually takes creativity, practice, and perseverance
and thats the problem with the majority of "music" on beatport and the like. its just stuff penciled down in a sequencer. its become so easy for people to "make music" that anyone can do it and think they are teh awesome.
Great producers do not necessarily make great DJs. But they are expected to be good, unfortunately for them. Bonus if they're fantastic DJs. But I don't criticize them too badly if they're not perfect.
Great DJ's do not necessarily make great producers. Nor are they expected to be. But they usually have a following so a lot of ppl will end up buying their stuff anyway. Junk or not.
There's a few that kick ass at both, and a LOT that suck at both.
