Radio "DJ'ing" ? (Mixing May Not Included)

Any one done this ? What experiences have you had ? What are things I should do and should not do ? What program do you suggest I use if I'm not going to actually "Mix" mix (Not Serato / Traktor / Etc) like something that lets me make a "On-The-Fly" playlist the simplest ?

I don't really plan on actually mixing the first few times as I will be playing a lot of things that would sound horrible mixed together and also my back .

I'm doing one for my college's radio station (shameless plug http://tunein.com/station/?stationId=143700 on Tuesday 9am-11am)

    Hey what's up?

I actually DJ for the same radio station. I use Serato, though. Most people set-up an iTunes playlist and go from there (its the easiest option). The mic is on a separate fader, thus you can talk at any time. On the mixer you can also utilize the two disc cd player. There is also an aux in/out fader (if you want to use your laptop or your own mixer). There is also a channel dedicated to the radio station computer (which has it's own music).

Any other questions please don't hesitate to ask.

I love DJF. Worldwide membership and local presence. It just doesn't get better.

I create mixes for a local radio station here in Chicago every holiday.

Great! I'm not sure if I answered your question directly or not. I know there is a program out there that a lot of CBS radio stations (like 95.7 and 97.9 in Houston) use for their music. I forgot the name, perhaps someone else can chime in if they know it.

The easiest way for college radio (if you won't be mixing live per say) would be just create a playlist using iTunes and have it mix for you. Then all you have to do is get on the mic when you feel like it.
