one thing.... you MUST PLAY War - Lowrider. LOL

+1 on the old school hip hop. As well as EDM. I'm from LA California however. Some tupac and snoop can't go wrong over here.

    Where exactly is this place?

I have an 86 and live in Sydney hah!

Also, just play your standard House/Electro club music if you ask me. Throw a bit of hip hop in there and everyone will be happy. Hell I'm sure some Dubstep won't hurt either. You've got 3-4 hours, play whatever you feel is good. Just remember, people are most likely going to be talking and not dancing so keep the levels at a reasonable level.

EDIT: Also dafuq. Are you DJ Rome from baaaaaack in the DJ Forum days? Like i'm talking 2007ish. If so, remember me?

It's Peter Brock drive, his factory is literally 50 metres down the road from Eastern Creek Karts if you know where that is...check out his facebook page he has the FT-86 decked out with garage88 decals, rims, suspension etc. He's about to put a turbo in it which is gonna be insane!

And YES that's me!! Holy crap man blast from the past yeh I remember you! We used to chat heaps back in the day. I still remember that Youtube video you made where you drink a mother and comment on how shit it is before you mix trance! Dafuq in deed lol! PS I thought you lived in Melbourne?

Also thanks to everyone for the advice, have taken it all on board. I think I'll stick with chill EDM and hip-hop, as well as maybe some dub and a tiny bit of pop depending on the song

Got to spin at a NOPI event in So California. Now granted this was your younger crowd. 16 - 30yrs old. They had DJs all day and all night. spinning 1-2hour sets. During the day it was all over the spectrum. HipHop, EDM, Alternative Rock, even Latin. I spun in the middle of the afternoon, did an open format Top40/House/Dance and a bit of Hiphop. The night time DJs were all EDM.

Don't know how it is in Aussie but depending on the crowd in NY, it can range from Hip Hop to House to Dubstep. You might want to get info from the garage owner what he wants to have played.

Obviously you should play something with some nice bass and a good vibe...Think good driving vibe/spirited driving. Something that someone might want to play while going around bends and twisties lol.

Man that's easy. But for me I wouldn't play hip-hop - or rap. But that is just me. Play some good floaty house at first then pump it up in the middle.

Kasey Taylor may go over well there. - Aussie DJ. Perhaps Patrol - Kasey Taylor Remix

Wow what a great opportunity to DJ in Aussieland though. Never been. Wanna go.

Just get the need for speed underground and midnight club soundtracks.

Depending on the crowd , in NYC most car meet up that are mostly from the ghetto or Spanish playing hip hop

Then the car meet up that are usually full of white rich kids play shitty edm music
